What Makes This Intensive Unique?

The purpose of the High Impact Facilitation Intensive is to develop advanced-level competencies in facilitation for collective action and impact. Participants work to realize personal developmental goals and demonstrate newly acquired facilitation capacities. In addition to a 3-day intensive, the program includes post-intensive accompaniment in the form of coaching sessions and peer support and learning.

It is a 4-month long program consisting of a 3-day Intensive followed by an accompaniment process where participants engage in applied learning, peer engagement and receive two individual coaching sessions. After four months, the program concludes with a 2-hour online completion meeting.

During the hands-on Intensive participants work towards the following outcomes:

  • Self-awareness of preferred styles and approaches and the ability to step outside of those patterns when needed.
  • The development of newly-acquired facilitation capacities.
  • Design of structures and methods that create the conditions for deeper, more satisfying and efficient engagement and collaboration. This includes: how to sustain vibrancy, curiosity and motivation while navigating complexity; how to create a safe and inviting space; how to work with conflict; and how to drive effective cross-sector collaboration.

High Impact Facilitation Intensive

AMSTERDAM
HIGH IMPACT FACILITATION INTENSIVE

November 4-5-6, 2019

With Facilitators Ellen Sprenger, Barbara Oliveira and Amis Agung Boersma

If you work to advance social change, you likely spend a lot of time in meetings. After all, it is through powerful multi-actor conversations and collaboration that ambitious human rights and climate justice goals are realized.

And yet meetings have a bad reputation. Most people admit to daydreaming, bringing other work to meetings, spending time on social media, and confess to feeling drained.

At Spring Strategies we believe that meetings should inspire, tap into the collective intelligence of a group, reshape how a problem is perceived, influence perspectives on how to affect change and uncover new ways of joining forces. High impact meetings generate new levels of strategic alignment, engagement and collective action. And we need more of those meetings; the future depends on it.

Are you an experienced facilitator ready to up your game? If so, we would love to work with you.

What Makes This Intensive Unique?

Since 2012, the Financial Resilience program has supported leadership teams from over 150 social and climate justice organizations in over 35 countries. It is infused with experiences from organizations dealing with shrinking civic space as well as those working under more favourable circumstances, offering a rare opportunity to gain both global and local insights that can be applied in different contexts and organizations.

In advance of the Intensive, you will have the opportunity to share information about your organization’s financial resilience successes and challenges - information that contributes to designing the sessions. On-site, you will work on five key areas: Funding Landscape, Resource Development, Strategic Finance, Quality of Engagement and Leadership Practice. You will develop a customized plan with key actions for the next period. In addition to the 3-day Intensive, the program includes a 4-month long accompaniment process in the form of coaching sessions and peer support and learning.

Financial Resilience Intensive

SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA
FINANCIAL RESILIENCE INTENSIVE

May 13-14-15, 2019

In Collaboration with Hivos

Facilitated by Ellen Sprenger, Nancy Natilson and Hansel Ortiz

Organizations around the world working to advance social and climate justice face a volatile and rapidly changing political and funding landscape. The work is complex and the need to sufficiently resource it is ever present.

What if you and your leadership team could:

  • Bring the same resilience to building financial strength as you bring to programming?

  • Use a creative, entrepreneurial approach to grow your base of supporters?

  • Gain new perspectives on money to inform your strategies?

  • Employ user-friendly financial health indicators in decision-making?

Spring Strategies’ Intensive gives you these fundamentals of financial resilience and supports your team in customizing plans for greater financial strength, influence and impact.

Why does financial resilience matter?

In 2017, Ellen spoke with Gigi Hepp about why financial resilience matters.  They recorded their chat in Sāo Paulo at the Amani Institute where Ellen had just taught a course in their award-winning Social Innovation Management program.

Find out how a bicycle is like an organization and hear Ellen's perspective on our relationship with money - a topic she has explored extensively in her work supporting civil society organizations on their journey to greater financial resilience and strength.
