Whether it is the immediacy of a global pandemic or the devastating impacts of climate change, our way forward increasingly is to meet remotely. In April 2021 we are offering a one-day Virtual Introduction to FIRE program, a dynamic and interactive learning experience to understand explore essential capacities for building greater, mission-aligned financial strength.

Organization and networks around the world working to advance social and climate justice face a volatile and rapidly changing political and funding landscape. The work is complex and the need to adequately resource is ever present.

In Spring's Intro to FIRE program your will gain a comprehensive view of what building financial strength involves and begin thinking about highest-leverage opportunities you might pursue in the context of your organization or network’s work in order to build resilience, influence and impact.

What makes this program unique?

Since 2012, Spring's Financial Innovation & Resilience program has supported leadership teams from over 200 social and climate justice organizations in over 40 countries. It is infused with experiences from organizations dealing with shrinking civic space as well as those working under more favourable circumstances, offering a rare opportunity to gain both global and local insights that can be applied in different contexts and organizations.

During this one-day virtual intensive, you will interactively explore and understand five key areas in relation to building financial strength: Funding Landscape, Resource Mobilization, Strategic Finance, External Communications and Leadership Practice. Through cross-learning and exchanges, the workshop will support you to thinking about how your organization or network might begin your journey towards greater financial strength.

In this program, you will explore:

How to respond to changes in the funding and financing landscape.
The breadth of possibilities for engaging with funders.
The difference between managerial finance and strategic finance and the importance of strategic budgeting.
The role of communications in growing and strengthening your base of supporters through your communications.
Key ingredients for keeping momentum on your organization or network’s unique financial resilience journey.
